St. Raymond's Clubs

The Saint Raymond Nonnatus Cathedral Choir
The choir rehearses each Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:30 PM in the Choir Room of the Cathedral and sings at the 10:30 AM Mass each Sunday and at all special occasions. Members are individuals who enjoy praising the Lord in song. Everyone is welcomed to join.
Cathedral Seniors Club
The Cathedral Seniors Club is open to parish members 55 years or over. The Seniors meet once a month for cards, talks, dinners, and to plan future activities and trips.
St. Vincent De Paul Society
The St. Vincent De Paul Society seeks, in a spirit of justice and charity and be person-to-person involvement of its members, to help those who are suffering.
New Members -- Please consider sharing some of your time and talents in serving the poor and needy of the community by joining the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM in the Rectory Rumpus Room. Please leave a message with any question regarding the Society, or the need of assistance from the Society, to the special voice mailbox at 818-776-4167.
Council of Catholic Women
The CCW is the women's organization of the parish. CCW members attend 9:00 AM Mass on the second Sunday of the month. Members promote frequent Communion, recitation of the Rosary, parish welfare, and take an active part in the National Diocesan Council. They also host the Anointing Mass for the sick, and a luncheon; purchase the Easter and Christmas flowers for the Cathedral; and maintain the church altar linens.
Medical Mission
The Medical Mission organization sews bandages and other health care items for Hospice and baby layettes for Birthright. Medical Missions meet the last Tuesday of the month between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM in the Bannon Room.
Temple Tenders
Temple Tenders assist in caring for the Cathedral building. On a weekly basis, they help maintain the sacristy, the sanctuary and the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. They also assist in the preparations for major liturgies and diocesan events throughout the year.
Cathedral Visitors
Cathedral Visitors are volunteers who visit parishioners who are homebound, in nursing homes, or the hospital.
Cathedral Pastoral Ministers
Besides visiting our sick, these ministers also bring the Eucharist to our homebound.
Food Collection
The Cathedral Parish contributes food for the needy on the last Sunday of each month. This food is collected at the Cathedral entrance. Please inform us of your need or the need of other persons.
Daybreak
Parishioners donate and prepare meals and act as welcomers at the Joliet area shelter for the homeless on the 2nd Saturday evening and 3rd Sunday morning of every month.
Shepherd's Table
On a monthly basis, Cathedral volunteers prepare and serve lunch to needy people in the Joliet area.
Support to the Sick and Dying
Your parish priests encourage you to call the rectory immediately when someone is critically ill or dying.
Youth Ministry
The Youth Ministry Program gathers the youth of the Cathedral and provides spiritual, educational, service, and social activities, along with leadership opportunities for the teens.
Bereavement Ministry
Bereavement Ministers assist families who have lost a loved one through death. They represent the parish in offering support to the family, especially in helping them plan the readings, prayers, and music for the Funeral Mass. Some training is required.
