Welcome to Our Parish

Cathedral of st. raymondOne of the richest blessings of our St. Raymond parish family is our strong sense of tradition.  From our original founding as a parish community in 1917, St. Raymond has been the parish home for generations of families who take great pride in our faith and the sense of tradition that has permeated our history.

Our St. Raymond community is always growing as we welcome new individuals and families to take their place in our parish faith story.  Whether you can trace your lineage back to one of our founding families, or you are new to our community, there is a home for you at St. Raymond parish.  God is calling each of us to reclaim our faith in Jesus Christ lived out in the Catholic Church.  At the Cathedral of St. Raymond, you will discover priests, deacons, a pastoral staff, and a faith community eager to help you become part of our Catholic community.

Through our website, you will find staff and parishioners who desire to make you feel welcome at St. Raymond.  Please feel free to contact any of these individuals with your questions and interests.  Together may we give much glory to God.

In Peace and Prayer,

Fr. Brad Baker
Rector

About Us

Thank you for visiting straymond.net, the online home of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus.

Founded in 1917, St. Raymond Parish is both the Diocesan Seat and a thriving parish of approximately 2,100 families from throughout Will County.

We have an elementary school which provides outstanding Catholic education for more than 520 children in preschool and kindergarten through eighth grade.

Our religious education program serves more than 330 students in grades one through eighth.

The parish is led by Very Rev. Brad Baker, the sixth Rector of the Cathedral.  Since being named Rector in 2008, Fr. Brad has been committed to fostering a warm and welcoming environment for the current parish community, and those looking for a parish home.

As the Diocesan Seat, we are proud to be the host of more than two dozen liturgical celebrations each year, including Adult Confirmation, Ordination, the Mass of the Holy Oils and the Anniversary Mass.  For more information and a schedule of upcoming dates, please contact the Diocese of Joliet at http://www.dioceseofjoliet.org.
