News You Can Use (NYCU)

On behalf of the faculty and staff, we wish to extend a very BLESSED and JOYOUS Easter to all of our school families!

Today begins the Triduum! We hope you will take advantage of services today and tomorrow, in addition to Easter Sunday. St. Ray’s celebrates Holy Thursday at 7 PM, Good Friday at 3 PM and Easter at the Saturday Vigil at 8 PM and Sunday morning at 7:30, 9, 10:30 and 12:00 (no 7 PM mass). All are welcome!

ITEM #1: Rice and Water Lunch

Close to 200 students participated in our 3rd annual rice and water lunch. Together we raised $1,237 for a school that is in the process of being built in Malawi. Thank you for giving so generously and for teaching your children the importance of being Christ’s love and light in this world!

ITEM #2: CRS Rice Bowls

When we began Lent, each child received a Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl. It is a box to store loose change. If you still have your Rice Bowl at home, please turn this in to the office no later than Tuesday, April 30th. We would like to cut the check to Catholic Relief Services for the total amount we collected. Thank you for your generosity!

ITEM #3: Administrative Professionals Day

During our second spring break next week, Administrative Professionals Day will be celebrated. Because we don’t want to miss this important celebration, we will celebrate our amazing office staff on the Wednesday we return, May 1st. Administrative Professionals Day is a day for us to acknowledge Mrs. Prieboy, Mrs. Alt, and Mrs. Seddon for all they do to keep up our school running smoothly and efficiently. They are women of great care and dedication to the teachers, students and families that walk the halls of St. Ray’s. Let’s shower them with love! A simple “Thank you. We appreciate you.” goes along way. From all of us at St. Ray’s to these wonderful women, we thank you for the countless hours you give to help our school. We couldn’t do it without you!

ITEM #4: Volunteer Appreciation Mass and Reception

Our school parents give in so many ways and we want to recognize you for all that you do to make St. Ray’s such an amazing place! Have you coached this year? Sat on the OktoberFest committee? Served as a room parent? Volunteered at Spaghetti Dinner? Given treats for a class party? Chaperoned a field trip? Join us! If you have given your time, talent, or treasure in any way this year, we want you to show you how special you are to us. It is important for the students of St. Raymond School to see the faces of the dedicated parents and family members who donate their time, talent and treasures to our school.

Please RSVP by Tuesday, April 30th by responding to this email, calling the office, or filling out the invitation sent home. This is important so we have the right amount of food. We look forward to this special event!

ITEM #5: First Communion Practice

Attention, First Communicant parents: The date for first communion practice and scapular prayer service is Tuesday, April 30th from 4:30-6:30. We begin in the gym and end in the Cathedral. If you have not handed in your first communion banner, please bring it to the practice.
