Congratulations Mrs. Kaput!

Dear St. Raymond School Family,

Each year the University of St. Francis assists the Diocese of Joliet in kicking off Catholic Schools Week with a special prayer service and ‘Breakfast with the Bishop’. A student and parent are chosen from each of the approximate 40 diocesan schools for this special event. Molly Vershay, a 6th grade student, represented St. Raymond.

As part of the program, the University recognizes one teacher in the Diocese to receive the “The Bishop’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.” There are three criteria for the selection of a teacher for this award: excellence in teaching, service to the educational community and recognition as a Christian role model in the school community.

I have the privilege to share with all of you that one of our very own has been recognized for the outstanding work she does. Mrs. Stephanie Kaput, our kindergarten teacher, was awarded the Bishop’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. This is a HUGE distinction! Out of the hundreds of teachers in the Diocese of Joliet, she stood above the rest and was selected to receive this amazing honor!

She accepted her award this morning at the University of St. Francis in front of her family, colleagues, the superintendent of Catholic schools, members of the Catholic School Office, and the students and parents of our diocesan Catholic schools.

Here is a snippet of what was read about Mrs. Kaput at the breakfast:

Mrs. Kaput understands that none of these efforts on teaching the minds of students are possible without one key ingredient—LOVE. Stephanie is the manifestation of God’s love. One can see this in how she treats her students, her passion for excellence, and her devout faith in God.

We couldn’t be more thrilled for this distinction for Mrs. Kaput. Please join me in congratulating Mrs. Kaput.

In the JOY of Christ,

Ms. Marjorie Hill
