First Day of School

Dear St. Raymond School Families,

I hope that all of you are enjoying your last day of summer vacation!  Here are just a few reminders for our first day of school:

1. Morning EDS is available for those families that need to take advantage of it.  It begins at 7:00.   Please enter at door #10 off of Douglas St.  At 7:30, the children will be brought to the safety lot to wait with all the other students.

2.  Regular drop off begins at 7:30.  Teachers will be in the area where the classes normally line up in the morning.  The first bell will ring at 7:45 and teachers will begin taking their classes inside.  Parents should remain outside or join us in the Commons for coffee.  The tardy bell rings at 7:55.

3. Mass begins at 10 AM.  Fr. David will be our presider.  We invite all parents to join us.  Both the Mary and Joseph side of church will be available for guests.  The students in K-8 will sit in the main body.  We will be processing over by walking down Douglas and then turning on Raynor.

4.  HSA will be providing a pizza lunch.  The original email indicated hot dogs would be served as well.  We are holding off serving hot dogs tomorrow since we have quite a few left from the barbecue.  Instead, we will serve hot dogs on Friday for a fun lunch.  An order form will go in your child's homework folder tomorrow.

5.  Dismissal is 3:00 for kindergarten and 3:05 for our 1st-8th grade.

6.  Tomorrow is a meet and greet for our pre-school families.  Pre-School families may come anytime between 8-11 to meet your child's teacher and explore the classroom.  Parents are expected to stay with their children.

In my welcome back email, I indicated that aide placement was still being determined.  The following aides have been paired with teachers:

Mrs. Anna Foreman will serve as the aide for Mrs. Christiansen.
Mrs. Lisa Wiers will serve as the aide for Mrs. Poropat.
Mrs. Kathy Blotnik will serve as the aide for Mrs. Kaput.
Mrs. Katie Homolka will serve as the aide for Mrs. Shanahan.

Mrs. Piotis is still recovering from her surgery this summer and has not been cleared by her doctor.  I will keep you updated as new information is given to me.  Please keep Mrs. Piotis in your prayers.

Enjoy these last hours of summer!

Ms. Hill
