Mrs. Piotis

Dear St. Raymond School Families,

At the conclusion of last school year, Mrs. Piotis, the aide in our 4 year old pre-school classroom, had surgery on her ankle that would involve a minimum of 10 weeks of rehab. Mrs. Piotis had hoped to return at the beginning of the school year, but her ankle was not fully healed. While she is making great progress with her physical therapy, at her last appointment her doctor did not fully clear her to return to work. It is with a sad heart that I share with you that Mrs. Piotis will not be returning to St. Raymond and will enter a much deserved retirement.

Mrs. Piotis has given 41 beautiful years to the families of St. Ray’s. She was a classroom teacher from 1971 until 1997. She left for a bit and then returned in 2003 to serve as an aide and to work in our extended day program. Mrs. Piotis is a St. Ray’s icon. Because of her many years of dedicated service, she has taught generations of families. There is no way to properly thank her for her many years of service, but we will do our best to send her off to retirement in a grand fashion. More details will follow on this.

Mrs. Piotis would have loved to return to serve the children of St. Raymond. It was in her heart of hearts, but God has a slightly different plan for her. Please keep her in your prayers as she continues to heal as well as for the life transition she is making.

Sincerely,

Ms. Hill
