News You Can Use (NYCU)

There is no school next week for students. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday from 12:00-8:00. You must have an appointment scheduled through School Speak. Report cards will be given at conferences. If you have not scheduled your appointment, please log on to School Speak before noon on Sunday. After that time, you will need to contact your child’s teacher to schedule a conference.

ITEM #1: Light Up the Holiday Parade (Friday, November 23rd)

We are so excited to be a part of this great Joliet tradition! Parade line up numbers won’t be given out until next week. Once we have our parade number, we will communicate it to our families via email and text messages. The Christmas tree is lit at 5:15. The parade kicks off at 5:30. All are welcome to parade with us!

ITEM #2: Honor Roll and Christian Conduct

We invite you to our school mass on Friday, November 30th. We will be announcing honor roll and awarding three students the Christian Conduct Award.

ITEM #3: Thanksgiving Food Drive

Thank you to everyone for giving from the heart and sharing the gift of food to those who are in need this Thanksgiving season. We collected hundreds and hundreds of cans, boxes, and jars of food! If you forgot to send your items, you can bring them to all of the masses this weekend at St. Ray’s (with the exception of the 7 PM mass).

ITEM #4: 8th Grade Confirmation Retreat

Students in the 8th grade class preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation are required to attend a Confirmation retreat their 8th grade year. St. Raymond is offering this year’s retreat in conjunction with St. Paul. Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, November 27th. The retreat will be held at St. Paul the Apostle (enter door C) from 4:30-8:30.

It is important that our 8th grade students experience this retreat together; however, if you are unable to attend the retreat we can help you find an alternative retreat within the diocese. Please let Ms. Hill or Mrs. Pershey know as soon as possible.
