News You Can Use (NYCU)

This morning we had an amazing tribute to honor and celebrate the men and women who serve our country! Thank you to Mrs. Black, Mrs. Borio and Mrs. Shemaitis who planned the assembly. And to all those members of the St. Raymond community who have or are currently serving our country and/or community, THANK YOU!

ITEM #1: OktoberFest Kid Pics

If your child was absent or you purchased a Kid Pics for a child who does not currently attend St. Raymond School, we will have a portrait sitting this Sunday, November 11th from 9-12. There will be someone to meet you near the Commons door and walk you to the stage area of the library. It takes less than 3 minutes to take the child’s picture so you will be in and out.

ITEM #2: Picture Retakes

Monday, November 12th is picture retake day. If you were unhappy with your child’s original picture or they were absent the first time around, your child will have the opportunity to have their picture retaken. The original pictures must be sent back. Anyone taking a retake must change back into their uniform. Please note these pictures go in our annual yearbook.

ITEM #3: Parent/Teacher Conferences

Today ended the 1st trimester. Report cards will be given out at conferences. You will also receive your child’s Iowa Test results (grade 3-8) and Child’s Progress report (kindergarten through grade 2).

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, November 19th between 12-5:30 and 6:30-8. There is NO SCHOOL that day. Scheduling for parent/teacher conferences will happen through School Speak. If you haven’t already, please log on to School Speak and sign up for a conference. Fall conferences are mandatory!

ITEM #4: Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Annual St. Raymond Non-Perishable Thanksgiving Food Drive will be next week! All proceeds will help benefit those served by the Peter Claver Center in Joliet.

Students are being asked to please bring non-perishable food donations next week, Monday, November 12th- Friday, November 16th. Each classroom will have a box in which the students can place their items. Student Council will collect the items regularly and place the items in the Commons so we can see our efforts.

Some suggested items: stuffing mix, canned foods, gravy, cake mixes, cranberry sauce, pudding mix...consider what you would enjoy eating at Thanksgiving.

Let us RISE to Greatness! God has blessed with so much, now in gratitude for those blessings let us help bring joy and bring food to those less fortunate this Thanksgiving.

ITEM #5: Athletics Candy Bar Sale

Thank you to all the families who agreed to support our athletic fundraiser by selling World’s Finest Chocolate.
