Serve with us @
DAYBREAK
Should you be supervised while buttering toast, or are you a master chef who can also lead a kitchen crew?
Either way (and anything in between), you can help serve meals at Catholic Charities' Daybreak Shelter with us. Our parish puts up 4–5 meals a month, and there’s always room for more helping hands.
- No kitchen skills? No problem.
- Culinary wizard? Fantastic!
- Prefer to donate juice, coffee or other specific supplies? Sweet.
- Want to prep something at home for us to take with? We’ll take it.
And of course, money for supplies is always lovely.
- Come solo, bring your family (kids can participate)
- Rally a few friends or a few coworkers as a little team builder.
Whether you serve once a year or every month, your time and generosity make a real difference— people get fed and it can be fun.

"Parents’ greatest responsibility is to help their children get to heaven. Why not bring the family to feed those in need? Model for them Jesus’ second commandment to “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Enjoy a couple of hours serving a meal together free from screens and full of graces!"

"It’s such a rewarding experience. You get to feed the hungry and they get to feed your soul. You get to see Jesus in the face of the needy and marginalized. It’s so easy, really!"

"Thank you for providing our junior high students with the wonderful opportunity to provide outreach in our community. It was so rewarding and beautiful, as the parent chaperone, to see our students humbly serve lunch to the people at Daybreak shelter. These experiences are invaluable. We continue to serve at Daybreak as a family."

"This is easy to do and very rewarding. If you're considering it, please reach out! Life is short and nothing should be taken for granted. Giving your time is the BEST gift and I really do feel that the residents at the Daybreak Shelter appreciate the efforts. I'm grateful to be part of this service, and feel blessed that I am able to volunteer. I double dog dare you to try it."

Bake & We Take Recipes
Prep a recipe at home- whether a loaf pan size, half pan, or full steam table size pan (or pans). We can freeze and store at church and then bring the item(s) with us to a particular meal. We can invite others to prep the same recipe on a paticular day so we have enough for all the guests of the shelter. Have a recipe to suggest? Do share.
